Bonnie Foster is an award-winning writer/director, screening her short films in more than 30 festivals worldwide and winning over 20 awards.
Some festival highlights include Best Screenplay/Santa Monica Film Festival, Best Story/London Fashion Film Festival, and Best Director from the London Independent Film Awards.
She is currently writing her first feature film project, a female-driven thriller slated to shoot in the spring of 2024.
Bonnie began her film career in the documentary world. She worked as a researcher on Emmy and Peabody-nominated films including Ken Burns’ series based on the Pulitzer Prize-Winning book, Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies, and as an associate producer on the PBS television series MAKERS: Women Who Make America.
Prior to embarking on her journey in the film world, Bonnie worked in puppet theater, creating her own company, “Dead Ladybug Puppets” and performing shows around the Pacific Northwest.
Bonnie earned her bachelor of arts from Sarah Lawrence College where she studied Russian language and literature, theater, and fiction writing. She continued her film studies at Columbia University under professors Alan Kingsburg and Frank Pugliese before moving to Los Angeles. She serves as a Judge on the Submission Committee for the European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU) in Paris, France and is an active member of the Alliance of Women Directors.
